Duck

Over the last few years duck feather has superseded curled poultry (chicken) feather, of which is now no longer supplied. The natural curl in duck feather acts like a spring, giving these cushions their support and recovery, making them exellent sofa cushions and competitively priced.

Feather - Down 85% - 15%

Feather (duck) and down is the mid range mixed feather, this is where the cushion prices start to increase steeply as down is introduced to the mix. These cushions have a high loft and recovery rate, very soft and sumptuous and well worth the extra cost.

Down - Feather 50% - 50%

Down and feather is the most luxurious mix for sofa seat cushions, its very soft light and make plump and sumptuous cushions, the duck in this mix gives the down clusters extra support, thus preventing the cushion from bottoming out. Exellent cushions but very very expensive.

Down 100% - Goose Down 100%

Down clusters are very soft light and have no quill. Upholstery cushions are very light sumptuous and the most expensive. This filling is best suited for back cushions in upholstery, for seat cushions extra filling has to be added to give the cushion more support to prevent them bottoming out, this extra filling drastically increasing the price. Down is used mainly in quilts and pillows and will last for many many years without breaking down.
